Charleston, SC - Jazz Artists of Charleston presents Footnotes at Footlight - A Piccolo Spoleto Festival Jazz Series Preview Celebration - Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Footlight Players Theatre.
This event is an all night celebration and fundraiser, kicking off a
brand new series with a brand new organization with all the local jazz
cats you know and love. The festivities begin at 5pm with a reception sponsored and catered by Avondale Wine & Cheese and The Trusted Palate with music by The Pulse Trio, featuring Michael Hanf (vibraphone), Ben Wells (bass) and Stuart White
(drums). The main stage concert beings at 6pm featuring "highlight
sets" performed by this year's Piccolo Spoleto Jazz Series Performing
Artists, including Ann Caldwell, Lee Barbour, Bobbie Storm, Leah Suárez, Robert Lewis, Tommy Gill, Quentin Baxter, KOPAJA, Mark Sterbank, GARAGE CUBAN BAND, Kevin Hackler, Duda Lucena, HAVANASON and many more! All tickets include show and reception. General Admission $25 / VIP $50.
VIP tickets packages include a JAC gift bag including 2 commemorative
posters with artwork by Nathan Durfee, CDs and more! Dont' miss out on

JUNE 3: HOLY CITY HOMECOMIN' AT FOOTLIGHT |
Charleston, SC - Jazz Artists of Charleston presents HOLY CITY HOMECOMIN' - a double-bill show uniting some of Charleston's most renowned jazz musicians - TUESDAY, June 3, 2008 at FOOTLIGHT PLAYERS THEATRE located at 20 Queen Street. The event kicks off at 4:00pm with "The Power of the Pulse," a FREE workshop presented by Clay Ross exploring rhythmic awareness through body percussion. At 5:30pm, Jack McCray, local author and co-founder of The Charleston Jazz Initiative, will present a lecture, "Return to the Source" - an insightful look at Charleston's own musicians, past and present, and their contributions to the art of jazz. The concert, beginning at 7:30pm, will feature Gradual Lean and Clay Ross' Matuto . During the intermission a live art auction, featuring original work by Nathan Durfee, will be held to benefit Jazz Artists of Charleston. Concert tickets are $20. This will be a night full of surprise guests combining for this specical event only. Don't miss this chance to hear them "bring it home!"
